Wellington Real Estate News

Dec. 23, 2015

The Wellington Aero Club is a private airpark community consisting of 248 one acre homesites with luxurious custom-built estate homes.  In the center of the community there is a 4,000 foot lighted runway that was paved in 2012. There are runway, taxi-way and tie-down homesites with some of the homes having their own private hangar.

The residents have the luxury of flying right to their doorstep and also have access to the community clubhouse.  The clubhouse is perfect for hosting parties and special occasions with a fully equipped  kitchen, gameroom, billiards and gathering room.  Aviation gas is available at the on-site refueling facility.

This community is only minutes from Wellington's fine shopping, restaurants, golfing and equestrian venues such as the International Horse Show, the Polo grounds and the Winter Equestrian Festival.  Palm Beach County has some of the most pristine beaches on the Atlantic Ocean with some of the best fishing spots in the world.

If you are a plane enthusiast interested in living in this great community, please contact me.  Owning an airplane is not a requirement to live in the Wellingon Aero Club.

Saddle Trail Park, Wellington, FL

This subdivision offers lovely homes with private barns, riding arenas and access to miles of bridle paths winding through the community.  It has easy access to the horse shows.  It is truly country living at its best.

The homes range from one million dollars to ten million, depending on the size of both home and lot. Most homes feature luxurious pools, heated spas and sundecks to unwind after a long day of riding. The year round mild temperatures of South Florida are an automatic draw for riders and non-riders alike. This location is within a hacking distance of the Winter Equestrian Festival, the world-known International Horse Show.  It is also close to the International Polo Club.  You can see the best in the world competing in jumping or dressage on Saturday nights from January through March in the international ring at the showgrounds.  It is a lively atmosphere with small shops and food and drink vendors throughout.

Although you are nestled in a peaceful country atmosphere, you are close to all other cultural and sports activities that are offered throughout Palm Beach County.  The Cruzan Ampitheatre and the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts offer top name entertainment.  There are hundreds of private and public golf courses, parks and fishing, and beaches with every type of water sport imaginable.  Palm Beach International Airport is only a 15 minute drive from Wellington.  The schools servicing Saddle Trail Park are New Horizons Elementary, Wellington Landings Middle and Wellington Community High. They are all top notch schools.  Private schools are also available.

Welcome to Wellington, FL

Wellington was a Planned Unit Development before it incorporated into a town.  It was divided into subdivisions by lot size and use.  It is different from most other Florida Towns as individuals purchased their lots and used any builder they chose for their home construction.  It was not a cookie-cutter community.  Most areas build out by large developers who gave buyers 10 or so models to choose from.

Wellington became known as one of the best family communities in the state of Florida.  subsequently it also became the equestrian capital of the world in the winter.  the equestrian subdivisions give the overall community much less density.  Traffic is non-existent.

I will review several subdivisions so you can understand the diversity of the community.

Loggerhead Marinelife CenterTurtle

Juno Beach is recognized as one of the most active turtle nesting beaches in the world.

The Marinelife Center of Juno Beach opened a new 12,000 square feet certified "green" facility and changed its name to Loggerhead Marinelife Center in April 2007.  The facility has a state-of-the-art full service veterinary hospital, outdoor classroom, research lab, resource center and exhibit hall.  They also have a great selection of children's educational books, gift and craft items in their marine-themed gift store.  The park amenities include picnic pavilions, playground, nature trail and a guarded beach.

Each year through field trips, outreach programs, summer camp, and other educational experiences, the center hosts thousands of school children.  In addition, the sea turtle hospital has more than 200,000 annual visitors.  It is the only sea turtle hospital between Orlando and the Florida Keys.  We are privileged to have it right here in our local community!

You and your family can enjoy this excellent educational facility and it's only about a 30 minute drive north east of Wellington!  Fun and educational for the whole family!    marinelife.org
